Plagiarism Policy
Al-Ridha: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data manipulation, and academic dishonesty. Authors submitting manuscripts must strictly adhere to the following principles:
-
Plagiarism Screening:
-
Every submitted manuscript undergoes rigorous similarity screening using Turnitin or iThenticate before being considered for peer review.
-
Screening is repeated prior to final publication on the copy-edited proof.
-
-
Similarity Index Threshold:
-
The maximum allowable overall similarity index is 20%.
-
Similarity from any single published source must not exceed 3%–5%.
-
Standard exclusions applied during screening include references/bibliography, properly attributed direct quotations with quotation marks, and common methodology phrasing.
-
-
Classification and Editorial Actions:
-
Similarity ≤ 20%: The manuscript proceeds to the peer-review or editorial workflow.
-
Similarity between 21% – 30%: The manuscript is returned to the authors with an obligation to rephrase and provide correct attributions within a given timeframe.
-
Similarity > 30% or Blatant Plagiarism: The manuscript is rejected outright without entering peer review.
-
-
Self-Plagiarism & Text Recycling:
-
Authors must not recycle substantial portions of their own previously published work without explicit citation and appropriate rationale.
-
-
Post-Publication Handling:
-
If plagiarism or data falsification is discovered post-publication, the journal initiates an investigation following COPE guidelines. If confirmed, the article will be formally retracted and a retraction statement published online.
