Conflicts of Interest Policy
Al-Ridha: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat requires all authors, peer reviewers, and editors to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could inappropriately influence or bias the work, review, or editorial decisions.
-
Definition of Conflicts of Interest:
-
A conflict of interest arises when personal, financial, academic, or professional affiliations could compromise objectivity or impart undue bias in conducting, reporting, reviewing, or publishing a community empowerment article.
-
-
Responsibilities of Authors:
-
Mandatory Disclosure: Authors must explicitly declare any potential financial or non-financial conflicts of interest in a dedicated "Conflict of Interest" statement prior to the References section.
-
Financial Interests: Authors must disclose research grants, consulting fees, honoraria, employment, or funding received from sponsoring institutions or community partners.
-
Non-Financial Interests: Authors must report personal, political, or institutional relationships (e.g., leadership roles in partner NGOs or community organizations) that could introduce bias.
-
Statement of No Conflict: If there are no conflicts of interest, authors must include the statement: "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript."
-
-
Responsibilities of Reviewers:
-
Recusal: Reviewers must decline invitations to review manuscripts where they have a recent collaborative relationship, institutional connection, personal conflict, or direct competition with any of the authors.
-
Confidentiality & Non-Exploitation: Reviewers must not use any unpublished findings or methodologies from the reviewed manuscript to advance their own scholarly or personal interests.
-
-
Responsibilities of Editors:
-
Editorial Recusal: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts submitted by themselves, family members, close academic collaborators, or colleagues from their own home institution/department.
-
Independent Assignment: In cases of editor recusal, an alternate, non-conflicted editor or associate editor will oversee the entire review and decision-making process independently.
