Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Al-Ridha: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. All parties involved in publishing (Authors, Editors, Peer Reviewers, and Publisher) must agree upon expected standards of ethical behavior.

1. Duties of Editors

  • Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published, based on academic merit, validity, community impact, and relevance.

  • Fair Play & Objectivity: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual and academic merit without regard to race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

  • Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and potential reviewers.

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the explicit written consent of the author.

2. Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their papers through objective feedback.

  • Promptness & Timeliness: Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research or knows that a prompt review will be impossible must notify the editor and decline the invitation.

  • Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shown to or discussed with others.

  • Standards of Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively without personal criticism. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors, including any substantial similarity or overlap with other published papers.

3. Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards: Authors of original community service reports must present an accurate account of the work performed, partner problems, methodology, and an objective discussion of its societal impact.

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. Plagiarism in all its forms, data fabrication, and falsification constitute unethical publishing behavior and are strictly unacceptable.

  • Multiple or Concurrent Publication: Submitting essentially the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.

  • Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, execution, or interpretation of the reported community empowerment activity. All significant contributors must be listed as co-authors.

  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest & Funding: All authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflict of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript, along with funding sources.

  • Fundamental Errors in Published Works: If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the journal editor to retract or correct the paper.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • Scholarly Communication Integrity: STAI Al-Hamidiyah ensures that good publishing practices and editorial independence are maintained.

  • Safeguarding Intellectual Property: The publisher supports editors and authors in protecting copyright and handling cases of alleged scientific misconduct, corrections, or retractions.
